This episode features Classic interviewing Cara Mastrey. Cara is a performer who sister was the legendary dj Tawn Mastrey. Cara now operates a foundation in her late sisters name. The 2 will discuss her career and her work for the foundation. As usual, Classic will feature some great indie music as well.

Tawn Mastrey was a legendary rock radio dj for over 30 years. She could be heard on “Nights w/ Alice Cooper”. She was the only woman in history of music broadcasting to host, write, produce & syndicate her own radio specials such as Rockzone & Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Happy Hour. She worked w/ MTV when it first launched. She had a cameo in the movie The Blues Brothers. She also produced a video for one of Classic’s all-time favorite bands..The Scorpions (No One Like You).

Infortunately, Tawn was taken away from us too early at the age of 53 (Oct 2007) due to complications from Hepatitis C. Her sister Cara began the Tawn Mastery Foundation in her honor & her spirit lives on. www.tawnmastreyfoundation
